Q. What is the Deming Prize and how did it come about?

    A. The annual Deming Prize(s) was established in 1950 and is wholly administered by the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE). The Deming Prize Medal was designed by Mr. Yoji Yamawaki. The Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) instituted the annual Deming Prize(s) for contributions to quality and dependability of product.

Q. I am interested how to get education or training on Dr Deming's teachings.

    A. The School of Business at Fordham University runs The Deming Scholars MBA Program, which aims to build a foundation for leadership in the new economic age. It provides a small group of highly motivated students with a unique opportunity to develop expertise in Dr. Deming's teachings and to build leadership skills within the framework of an outstanding program accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).     A. The Institute does not have membership. Rather we have participants. We encourage you to register and enter your name in the Institutes database.
