Balaji S. Reddie
The Deming Forum India and the Sri Balaji SocietyBalaji S. Reddie is the founder of The Deming Forum India and was recently honored by the National Centre for Quality Management for 20 years of contribution to the field of Quality in India. An engineer by trade, Balaji became highly interested in the Deming Philosophy after a chance introduction to the founder of the British Deming Association, Dr. Henry R. Neave, who became Balaji’s mentor. Since then, Balaji has introduced thousands to Deming’s teachings, including presenting papers for private and public audiences, and serving for 10 years as an Adjunct Professor in management colleges with a focus on production, operations, and supply chains. He is currently employed with an educational group, the Sri Balaji Society, in his hometown of Pune, India.Balaji's contributions have been featured in textbooks and coursework on Quality and the Deming Philosophy. He holds an undergraduate diploma in Electrical Engineering from COEP (the Government College of Engineering in Pune), and a Master of Science in Quality Management from BITS (Birla Institute of Technology & Science).

Bill joined The W. Edwards Deming Institute® in October 2016 as the Deputy Director. In this role, Bill works in collaboration with The Deming Institute's "Leadership and Staff" and partners to guide the worldwide efforts of the Institute to achieve its aim. Prior to joining The Deming Institute, Bill was employed by Aerojet Rocketdyne in Canoga Park, California, serving as an Associate (Technical) Fellow, focusing on "thinking about thinking" with applicability to the design, development, and production of liquid rocket engines. David Langford is founder and CEO of Langford International, Inc. and Superintendent of Ingenium Schools. He is an international consultant, author and educator whose focus is to create sustained systemic improvement in student learning, school leadership and organizational processes. Diana Deming Cahill
The W. Edwards Deming Institute®
Ms. Deming Cahill is the Chairman and Founding Trustee of The Deming Institute and Dr. W. Edwards Deming's daughter. From 1979 to 1993, she accompanied her father at numerous public and private seminars and consulting sessions, classes and meetings at New York University and at companies in the United States, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. A former classroom teacher in the elementary and primary grades, Diana attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College and Marietta College and holds a BA in sociology.
Doug Hall is CEO and Founder of Innovation Engineering and Eureka! Ranch. A Chemical Engineer by education, he first learned about Dr. Deming’s work from his father, who worked at Nashua Corporation in the early 1980s. Doug then applied the Deming approach to innovation at Procter & Gamble, where he and his team set a record for bringing nine innovations to market in twelve months. After ten years at P&G, Doug founded Eureka! Ranch, focused on helping top companies such as Nike, Walt Disney, Pepsi, Hewlett Packard and American Express increase innovation speed and decrease risk.
An author of multiple best-selling books on innovation, leadership, marketing and new product development, Doug has been named one of America's top idea gurus by A&E Top 10 Magazine and the Wall Street Journal. He co-hosted the first season of ABC’s “American Inventor” as well as other national television and radio shows. In 2010, Innovation Engineering was accepted as a new field of study and leadership science and is now widely taught in both academic and corporate settings. Doug’s latest book to be published this October is Driving Eureka!. It applies system thinking to strategy, innovation and how we work together in organizations.

Dr. Donald M. Berwick
Institute for Healthcare Improvement
Donald M. Berwick, MD, MPP, FRCP, KBE, is President Emeritus and Senior Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), an organization that he co-founded and led as President and CEO for 18 years. He is one of the nation's leading authorities on health care quality and improvement. In July, 2010, President Obama appointed Dr. Berwick to the position of Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which he held until December, 2011. A pediatrician by background, Dr. Berwick has served as Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Health Care Policy at the Harvard Medical School, Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health, and as a member of the staffs of Boston's Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He has also served as vice chair of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, the first "Independent Member" of the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association, and chair of the National Advisory Council of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. He is an elected member of the American Philosophical Society and of the National Academy of Medicine (formerly the Institute of Medicine). Dr. Berwick served two terms on the IOM’s governing Council and was a member of the IOM’s Global Health Board. He served on President Clinton's Advisory Commission on Consumer Protection and Quality in the Healthcare Industry.
He is a recipient of numerous awards, including the 1999 Joint Commission’s Ernest Amory Codman Award, the 2002 American Hospital Association’s Award of Honor, the 2006 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award for Individual Achievement from the National Quality Forum and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the 2007 William B. Graham Prize for Health Services Research, the 2007 Heinz Award for Public Policy from the Heinz Family Foundation, the 2012 Gustav O. Lienhard Award from the IOM, and the 2013 Nathan Davis Award from the American Medical Association. In 2005, he was appointed “Honorary Knight Commander of the British Empire” by Queen Elizabeth II, the highest honor awarded by the UK to non-British subjects, in recognition of his work with the British National Health Service. Dr. Berwick is the author or co-author of over 160 scientific articles and six books. He also serves now as Lecturer in the Department of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Ravi K. Roy is the inaugural W. Edwards Deming Fellow with the Institute, a position he assumed in January 2016, with promotion to Senior Research Fellow in January 2018. He also serves as Director of the newly formed W. Edwards Deming Incubator for Public Affairs at Southern Utah University. Prior to this, he served as both the Director of the Post-Graduate Program in International Development at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia (2009-2011) as well as the Director of MPA program at California State University, Northridge in California (2011-2013). Gina LaRosa Benedict
Gina is Principal Consultant/CEO at HR Solutions; in this role, she teaches others how the Deming approach is applied in the human resources arena to reduce costs and create a team that plays well together as they increase productivity. Her marketing, sales, human resources, and management experience spans a number of industries, including insurance and consumer health, product engineering and design, environmental consulting, capital equipment manufacturing and sales, and advertising. She has partnered with companies as small as Dryden Health Insurance and as large as Johnson & Johnson, and she has also worked with start-ups, on product launches, and in the non-profit/NGO arena.
Gina holds a BA from Indiana University and numerous designations/affiliations, including SHRM-CP (Society of Human Resources Management - Certified Professional) and PHR (Professional in Human Resources).
Harvard Business Publishing
Josh Macht is the Chief Product and Innovation Officer for Harvard Business Publishing (HBP). Macht is responsible for product development and innovation efforts across the company’s three market divisions – the Harvard Business Review Group, Corporate Learning, and Higher Education – and for leading the Higher Education group. He also spearheads the HBP Product Incubator, a unit formed to explore new ventures and growth opportunities for the company. Prior to this role, Macht had been the Group Publisher of Harvard Business Review, where he led the digital transformation of the HBR brand around the world. Macht joined HBP in 2006 from TIME, where he worked as the General Manager and Editor in Chief of TIME.com. He was also the magazine’s technology editor. Before that, he co-founded Inc.com and served as an editor and writer for Inc. Magazine. Macht has written about Dr. Deming’s management principles for HBR.org and The Boston Globe. Kelly Allan is chair of The Deming Institute's Advisory Council and the senior associate of Kelly Allan Associates, Ltd., a company with over 24 associates. A member of the Better Business Bureau since 1982, the company enjoys the BBB’s highest (A+) rating, with a spotless record of client satisfaction. In 1999, when Peter R. Kevin Edwards Cahill is Dr. Deming’s grandson and currently volunteers full-time as the Executive Director of The W. Edwards Deming Institute®. Kevin also serves on the Board of Trustees, where he is President and a Successor Founding Trustee. Kevin is responsible for guiding the global efforts to achieve the aim of The Deming Institute and leads their strategic planning, management, operations, marketing and communications efforts. Paula Marshall is a Trustee of The Deming Institute. She was named the CEO of her family’s business, The Bama Companies, in 1985. Bama provides frozen baked goods to large-scale restaurant chains including the nation’s largest hamburger chain, the nation’s largest pizza chain and the nation’s largest retailer. TJ Gokcen is the CEO of Acquate. Acquate continually collaborates with The W. Edwards Deming Institute® to build our website. TJ is also the Chief Software Architect of ED, the world's first end-to-end business systems software designed to lead an organization as a system using the Deming Philosophy, developed in collaboration with The W. Edwards Deming Institute®.
Previously, TJ’s work had included implementing software applications to automate systems and processes for numerous companies in Europe as well as enterprises in the USA and Australia. He has the unique ability to apply systems thinking and the System of Profound Knowledge to software development. He speaks regularly at national and international conferences and hosts a number of meetups in Sydney, Australia on Systems Thinking and Agile.
TJ presented his latest research paper, Aim as a System, at the 21st Annual Deming Research Seminar in March 2015, in Washington DC. His latest workshop experience, Oasys, which is about seeing an organization as a system, premiered in Sydney, Australia in June 2018 and was very well received by the IT and Agile community.
Travis Timmons is a business owner who has a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. His company, Fitness Matters, provides physical therapy services, pelvic health services for women and men, and ongoing wellness offerings via Pilates, personal training, and Muscle Activation Techniques.
Travis was first introduced to the Deming management philosophy when he met Kelly Allan in 2011 via a mutual friend (hear more about this fateful meeting in this June 2016 Deming Podcast.)
