2014 Fall Conference

About

INNOVATION FOR SUCCESS
Creating a Foundation for Leading in Business and Education
“Innovation: It’s not simply an idea; it’s how you create an Innovation culture where everybody wins.
What can leaders do to create and establish a culture of Innovation?
How can you sustain and foster Innovation in your organization?
Why can questioning current management ideas drive Innovation?

The importance of leading and being an innovative business or education organization is more critical than ever.

Innovation comes in all shapes and sizes. We all think of groundbreaking innovations as ones that disrupt markets, create new services and devices, and challenge the way we work and think. To be innovative, our leaders must challenge the status quo. As Steve Jobs once famously said, “…the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

Unfortunately, so often, our best efforts and hard work to create innovative organizations actually stifle and derail those very efforts.

At this conference, you will be inspired by leaders in business and education who are not only unafraid to think differently but are “crazy enough” to change their organizations through their own innovative efforts and ideas.

They all have a unique common thread that will be explored at this conference. That thread is a management philosophy where continual learning is a key source of Innovation, which in turn has led to their growth and success.

These speakers view their business and education systems through a unique lens that empowers them to successfully challenge the existing management models and leads them to create cultures where innovation, improvement, learning and creativity are nurtured and encouraged. We will explore where Innovation comes from and why, as Dr. Deming said, “One requirement for innovation is faith that there will be a future. Innovation, the foundation of the future, can not thrive unless the top management have declared unshakable commitment to quality and productivity.”

The W. Edwards Deming Institute®, in collaboration with California State University, Northridge presents a conference on innovation to encourage you to think differently, challenge the status quo and create your own win-win situations. Through presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities, this conference explores the obligations our business and education leaders have to build and create sustainable systems that help nurture ongoing innovation.

You will be challenged, excited and invigorated with the possibilities in your own career, business or education institutions.
