“They (Children) will manage our country, our industry, our agriculture, our services, our government. They will do the work of the future. I wonder if anything is more important than children and their education.” – Dr. W. Edwards Deming – The Essential Deming, Chapter 6 on “There is no Substitute for Knowledge”

Be a part of our first Deming In Education Initiative Seminar

The Introduction to Deming in Education Seminar is a two-day interactive event and hands-on approach to the Deming Method. It is a time for educators to deepen their own understanding and to expose colleagues to the Deming theory. The seminar is designed for those interested in making a profound and sustained difference in education and inspiring “joy in learning” in the next generation of students.

Many educators have experienced years of frustration, trying new programs time and again and wondering why improvement does not happen. The Deming method is not another new program; it is a philosophy, a way of making decisions that returns the power of thinking, creativity and performance back to the students and teachers responsible for the results. It is possible to see the Joy of Learning return to everyone in the education system, including parents.

Join us to learn how you can

  • Dramatically improve your learning environment through a systems approach that creates joy and passion in learning, teaching and leading
  • Build student engagement by creating vibrant learning experiences
  • Create classrooms where behavior problems are virtually non-existent
  • Attain academic performance at levels not achieved through traditional methods
  • Begin the transformation of school and class culture with a committed core group
  • Expand your circle of influence to affect change in larger systems

At the seminar you will learn how the Deming principles produce a brain-based learning environment, how to apply Deming’s systems thinking in education, what learning looks like in the new system, and simple methods to get started in your classroom, school or university.

Who should attend:  Teachers, principals, professors, superintendents, administrators, school board members, parents and government leaders responsible for education at the local, state or federal level. Participants are encouraged to come as a team and learn together how to support the transformation effort in their schools.
David P. Langford will be the facilitator for the seminar, drawing on 25 years of experience in helping schools and universities apply the Deming Method. Here are some comments from educators who recently attended a Langford seminar:

“My team came up with a great way to collect data from students and figure out a great way to use that data to further our discussions and planning in our departments for meaningful change!” Shona Abereg – Assistant Principal

Great 4 days! Very engaging and inspiring. Thank you for giving me permission to take risks and not be ruled by the system. I’m excited about making changes with my students for continual improvement. I can’t wait to get started.” Inede Vanvliet – Teacher – Plenty Parklands, Australia

“This course has been very valuable to me as a leader. It has provided great tools to support quality implementation of changes that will really make the difference. It incorporates ways to drill down to the key causes or blocks to moving forward in a successful direction while bringing all key stake holders on board. Thank you.” Felicity Bruce – Principal – Australia.
