THE DEMING ONWARD CAMPAIGN RAISES $1.5 MILLION

The W. Edwards Deming Institute is pleased to announce the successful completion of its $1.5M Deming OnWard campaign. The campaign to fund the creation of a new online learning platform commenced in early 2018 and reached 100% of the goal early this year. The new online program, DemingNEXT™, is currently in beta-testing and preparing for launch.

From the early planning stages, the Institute’s aim for an online learning platform was to expand access to the Deming teachings—to make them available to everyone, around the world, at any time. This online program will reduce both geographic and financial barriers, and bring new, modern examples of Deming in our workplaces and communities. This innovative learning portal brings together online learning technology and a social learning ecosystem with the most comprehensive Deming educational content available today.

“Today, online training has become more important than we ever imagined—with limitations to travel and in-person gatherings, and the urgent need to help people and organizations recover and rebuild their businesses and communities after the devastating impact of the pandemic,” shared President & Executive Director Kevin Edwards Cahill. “The vision of our Board of Trustees and their planning, years before the pandemic, allow us to be in a position to help thousands of organizations and communities at this challenging time.”

Deming OnWard is the largest fundraising effort in the Institute’s 28-year history and was led by co-Chairs Paula Marshall and Steven Haedrich, both of whom serve on the Board of Trustees.

“Our community’s generous investments in this program speak to the power of Dr. Deming’s teachings, and we are humbled by the levels of support from our donors and the many volunteers who served as subject matter experts for the new programming,” expressed Marshall. Haedrich added, “Now comes the exciting part of sharing DemingNEXT™ with the world!”

In addition to leadership gifts by individuals and families affiliated with The Deming Institute, the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust has awarded a $150,000 grant to provide staffing for the new program. Together, more than 50 individuals and organizations donated to help meet the campaign goal.

DemingNEXT™ will be launched later this summer and made available through the Institute’s website.
